This batch of pesto kicks off the summer gardening bounty. The basil plants were started in my little greenhouse and planted into containers and finally moved outside last week. I’ve actually been picking it for about a month, but that was just a leaf or two at a time, pinching it back to make it bushy. It is working - I had about 2 cups of leaves today.
Sorry about the blurry picture - I need some practice with the new camera.

i love me some pesto. our lettuce-leaf basil plants are tiny plants right now. hopefully in the next few weeks we can transplant them into the garden. last year our plants grew to about 4 feet high, and we had lots of leaves. i made some pesto basil cubes….
Yeah, that’s a great idea- pesto cubes. We’ve done that in the past. Makes for quick, easy, and delicious meals!
